Most toilet problems are small, cheap and worth fixing quickly. A running toilet can waste a remarkable amount of water before anyone notices, and a leak at the base is not really a toilet problem so much as a floor problem in waiting.
We repair what is worth repairing and replace what is not, and we will tell you which is which.
Usually the flapper or fill valve. An inexpensive fix that stops water going straight down the drain.
Often a failed wax seal. Worth dealing with quickly, because it goes into the floor.
Loose flange bolts or a damaged flange. Movement eventually breaks the seal underneath.
Blocked rim holes, a worn flapper, or a partial blockage further along.
A toilet that blocks often usually has something beyond the trap causing it.
Not repairable. This is a replacement, and better planned than emergency.
Tell us what is going on. Often we can narrow it down before we arrive.
A clear explanation of what is wrong and what it will take.
The work and the number, before anything starts.
Properly, and to code.
We check it works and leave the space tidy.
My toilet runs constantly. Is that expensive?
The repair is usually inexpensive. Leaving it is what costs, because a running toilet can waste hundreds of gallons a day and it shows up on the bill.
There is water around the base. What is it?
Most often the wax seal beneath the toilet has failed. It is a straightforward repair, but worth doing promptly because the water goes into the subfloor.
The toilet rocks slightly. Does it matter?
Yes. Movement works the seal loose underneath, and a small problem becomes a leak into the floor.
Repair or replace?
Valves, seals and flappers are worth repairing. A cracked tank or bowl is not repairable. Very old low-efficiency units are often worth replacing on water use alone.
Can you take the old one away?
Yes, removal and disposal is part of a replacement.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. We give free estimates on all jobs.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes. Every job we do carries at least a one year warranty on our labor. Water heaters carry two years. Fixtures and parts carry their own manufacturer’s warranty.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer financing through Affirm. The invoice we send you carries an option to pay over time instead of all at once, and Affirm sets the terms. Useful when a repair or a replacement arrives unplanned, which is usually how they arrive.
